The position
As a Software Analysis Engineer at agap2, you take on the challenge within an international environment with a local focus. Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Software Analysis Engineer to join our Product Engineering Defense organization. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for software development, engineering simulation, and composite structures. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary project team developing innovative composite components for the Defense Aerospace sector. If you are R&D-oriented, technically analytical, and enthusiastic about developing engineering tools, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As part of our Global Technology Center – Missiles Laboratory, you’ll take ownership of our internally developed simulation software tool, used in conjunction with filament winding machines and structural analysis tools. You will play a central role in maintaining and expanding our digital engineering capability for design, analysis, and manufacturing simulation.
- Identify, analyze, and solve technical challenges across the design and manufacturing process.
- Develop, implement, and validate technical solutions and software tools aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously improve and expand, our internal software platform for filament winding design and simulation.
- Integrate and develop custom software interfaces and tools using:
- CATIA
- Python for linking with structural analysis tools like Abaqus
- Robot simulation platforms such as 3D RobotStudio, RoboDK, or Sinutrain
- C# and custom add-ins for machine control software
- Apply advanced tools for stress analysis and finite element modeling, including Abaqus, Patran/Nastran, and optionally Simcenter.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop simulation-driven design and manufacturing solutions.
- Present and communicate technical work to engineering stakeholders, both internally and externally.
What You Bring
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant software-related field.
- Strong experience in software development, particularly in engineering or manufacturing applications.
- Hands-on experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools like Abaqus, Patran/Nastran; knowledge of Simcenter is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as VBA, Python, and C#.
- Familiarity with robotic simulation environments and machine tool programming.
- Ability to work independently on technical analyses and also contribute to peer reviews, validations, and approvals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical ideas to a broad audience.
