The Supercomputing Centre of the Eindhoven University of Technology support researchers, students and industry partners with computational needs. It has local and cloud solutions but also uses national and international computing facilities. Recently a revolutionary AI facility has been setup, the first of its kind in Europe.
The position
We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to strengthen our AI support unit. You will collaborate closely with researchers across disciplines of all faculties and industry partners, helping them to translate their scientific domain questions into computational needs. We bring their AI workloads to production, optimize training performance, and scale efficiently on our high performance computing platforms, including the “state of the art” NVIDIA DGX cluster called SPIKE-1.
As part of the AI team embedded in the university’s Supercomputing Centre, your work will directly support academic excellence and socially relevant research, contributing to the development and deployment of scalable, efficient, and reproducible AI workloads.
The job entails:
- Collaborate with research groups to co-design, optimize, and scale AI workloads
- Profile and optimize GPU-based training workflows
- Support deployment and management of AI models in production environments
- Provide expert support for using our DGX system and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise stack
- Onboard researchers, students and industry partners on our AI/HPC platforms and teach them how to use these platforms
- Give courses about ML/DL engineering
- Translate technical details to solution architecture
Your profile
You are a skilled Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in optimizing and deploying AI workloads in HPC or cloud environments. You thrive in a collaborative, innovation-driven setting and enjoy translating complex computational needs into robust, scalable solutions. You are actively involved in the ML community and enjoys exploring cutting edge technologies.
Required
- Proven experience with machine learning and deep learning practices
- Ability to turn research models into robust, production-ready endpoints
- Affinity with academic research and interest in supporting scientific innovation
- Experience working with HPC and/or AI platforms
Preferred
- Experience profiling GPU workloads and optimizing AI code for performance on HPC systems
- Hands-on experience with NVIDIA DGX systems
- Familiarity with NVIDIA AI Enterprise software (e.g., Triton, NGC, CUDA, DALI, NIM, NEMO, etc.)
- Experience with NVIDIA Run AI or similar orchestration tools.
- Experience with Kubernetes for ML/DL workloads
- Strong knowledge of containerization
