In the Netherlands, we are located in four cities: Huizen, Delft, Eindhoven and Hengelo (head office). Together with an extensive ecosystem of knowledge partners, customers and suppliers, we work on radar systems for seagoing vessels, cyber security solutions, transport systems, communications equipment for land forces, cryogenic cooling solutions, R&D for radar technology (in collaboration with TU Delft), as well as R&D for serious gaming (in collaboration with the University of Twente).
Radar System Engineer: Contribute to Technology that Protects the World
Can you unravel complex technical issues and translate them into workable solutions? As a Radar System Engineer at Thales, you will develop advanced search radars that are deployed worldwide for defense purposes. Your technical expertise makes a direct difference in a world where reliable safety systems are crucial. In our Search Radar team, you will translate complex challenges into functional solutions that perform under extreme conditions.
What will you do?
- Collaborate with radar architects and various engineering specialists in multidisciplinary teams.
- Serve as the technical and functional bridge between system architecture, hardware, software, and test engineering.
- Design and validate innovative radar capabilities, from concept to implementation.
- Optimize radar performance by finding the balance between functionality, quality, and cost.
- Solve technical challenges using both abstract system knowledge and detailed insights.
- A typical workweek includes team meetings, technical analyses, design sessions, and close collaboration with domain specialists. You will work on concrete products such as the GM200 MM/C or the NS50.
Who are we looking for?
- You hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable field.
- An analytical and creative problem-solving mindset.
- The ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts.
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
- The talent to find the right balance between perfection and speed.
- You are motivated to develop innovative defense technology that protects lives.
- Experience with radar technology is a plus but not a requirement – your eagerness to learn and technical foundation are what matter most.
