You and your future
As Operations Engineer within our Early Career Program IT it is your responsibility to run and change the applications within our IT Systems. Besides the regular support activities, you implement change requests based on broad knowledge of processes. As Operations Engineer you are an active member of the DevOps team, working closely with other disciplines/roles. You are a
T-shaped professional and able to combine one or more technical specialties with the ability to take over basic activities of other specialists in your team.
In short/Examples
The Account Payment Factory (APF) Tribe is one of the Tribes within the IT Systems organisation. Within APF You will be working in the Current Account DevOps team which is responsible for the development, maintenance and operational management of the current account systems for payments. These systems are running on the IBM mainframe platform supporting the core banking functionality and are a vital part in 7×24 online and batch transaction processing and information portals. New Current Account features are continuously being developed supporting multiple delivery units within the Rabobank.
In order to support the Current Account applications we are looking for candidates to strengthen our team with good communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
Your development as a young professional
Within this program, you will have the opportunity to get to know yourself, the field, and Rabobank. The program lasts a total of 18 months. You will start the program in a junior position within one team, participate in (online) workshops and training modules with other juniors, and quickly gain practical experience.
Together with others, there is room for creativity and initiative to organize events, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. This way, we continuously improve the program and ourselves! You will easily build a large and valuable network within the bank.
Your development as a trainee
In the Rabobank Traineeship, you will work on your personal development for 18 months. This includes personal leadership, relevant skills, and various themes such as sustainability, as well as learning how a bank operates. In addition to personal development, you will choose one of the tracks that suits you. In these tracks, you will focus more on the content of your role.
You will meet fellow trainees from different departments weekly, and on other days you will work within your own team. Through rotations and assignments, you will get to know a large part of the bank. You will be guided by a Young Talent Manager, who will challenge you to reflect and delve deeper into your development.

You and your talent
- HBO/WO education level in IT;
- Knowledge and experience with Agile;
- Basic mind-set of continues improvement, flexibility and taking ownership, focus on automating work in and around the team;
- You know how to assess risks and distinguish main issues from side issues;
- Preferably you have technical knowledge and hands-on experience in: Z/OS Mainframe, IBM utilities, DB2;
- You can carry out activities in the area of automated (test) environment coordination and life cycle management;
- You are interested to work in a dynamic international environment;
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written English and Dutch (B2 level);
- Motivation to work with Payments in diverse IT environment;
