Junior Data Engineer

ING is looking for a passionate Junior Data Engineer

You will work as a junior engineer in our ING Global Strategy & People Analytics team where we build and deploy analytics products, data science models & dashboards to support all decisions about ING employees making ING a great place to work for. You will be working in our Amsterdam office with a 36- or 40-hour contract.

The team
You will work in a squad on the front-line closely with data scientists and business translators to agree on the best way to support our stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in the administration of our platform and its future roadmap in collaboration with ING Tech & ING Analytics.

Roles and r esponsibilities
In this role, you will be working in high-impact pr ojects in ING’s global HR.

Creating , schedul ing and optimizing the data processing pipelines using SQL & Python and deployed on our on-prem platform,

I mprov ing data flow, establish ing new data sources and deploy ing them ,

T roubleshoot ing data issues, providing robust solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability,

P roactively working on our on-prem platform and its administration & its future roadmap with support of our data engineer,

Y ou are the go-to person for our team members developing, testing, and deploying their work on our platform,

S upport ing our platform’s IT Risk colleagues.

We are looking for you, if you:
Are a fresh graduate from a related academic program or have 0-2 years of data engineering experience,

H ave experience building data pipelines, data processing and optimization using Python & SQL,

H ave good knowledge of data manipulation and transformation,

H ave knowledge of software engineering best practices, and deployment and provisioning automation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD),

H ave take -it-on-and-make-it-happen mentality, you are eager to take full ownership when we enter technical phase of a project

H ave excellent communication skills, writing and verbal in English,

R eside in the Netherlands with a valid work permit,

W ant to learn more and proactively acquire knowledge.

You’ll get extra points for:
H ands-on experience in training and evaluating ML models,

B ash scripting and Linux systems .
