Business Development Director (Energy)

We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Director (Energy) to advance the growth of our technology in the Energy market.
You will be part of an ambitious, multi-cultural team operating in an intellectually stimulating environment with significant personal growth prospects. The business has successfully developed and proven a truly innovative product portfolio, delivering unparalleled information relevant to energy and defense markets.
Main responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining a partner network for our OptiFender product line.
- Accountable for the energy order intake, managing a small sales team.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports for informed decision-making.
- Manage client relationships, identifying new opportunities and tailoring solutions.
- Facilitate and lead bid / non bid decisions for large strategic and tactical projects to an agreed project value.
- Build a strong industry network and stay updated on market trends.
- Contribute to market research and develop growth strategies for the energy sector.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure product compliance and alignment with market needs.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in fiber optics sensors to communicate our values effectively. If you do not have this yet, we’ll teach you.

What We’re Looking For?
- Engineering or Physics degree (BSc or MSc).
- 8+ years’ experience in a commercial (global) role (B2B sales, business development, entrepreneurship).
- A strong professional network (EMEA) and/or experience in the energy sector related to high voltage application (transformers, cables, switchgear, substation assets, etc.).
- Familiar with selling sensors, monitoring solutions.
- Deal closer, not afraid to ask for business without crossing a line; hands on mentality.
- Able to build long-standing and successful relationships with key clients, take ownership.
- High commercial, entrepreneurial drive, ability to think and act on strategic level.
- Interest for technology and innovation, eager to deepen personal knowledge of the market.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills, other languages is a plus.
